What is Attachment Parenting?

Attachment parenting encourages responsiveness to the infant or child's emotional needs, and develops trust that their emotional needs will be met. As a result, this strong attachment helps the child develop secure, empathic, peaceful, and enduring relationships. The Attachment Parenting Intl website has a lot of info. I also recommend that you check out books by Dr. William Sears.

Grace Based Discipline (GBD) is a natural extension of AP... by no means the easy way to parent, but we strive to parent this way. If you are interested in learning more about AP, GBD, and NFL, the forums at MotheringDotCommune and Gentle Christian Mothers are very informative. And I highly recommend Crystal Lutton's book Biblical Parenting.

Affection could no more spoil a child, than the sun could be put out by a bucket of gasoline.
--L. Ron Hubbard

"It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men."

"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."
--Thomas Edison
